‘He gives pasty pudgy white guys hope for soul!‘ reads a YouTube comment about St Paul & The Broken Bones’ performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live this past September.
Formed in 2012 in Birmingham, Alabama, St Paul & The Broken Bones are an eight-piece ensemble combining blue-eyed soul, rock ‘n’ roll, and funk. They are fronted by vocalist Paul Janeway, gifted with a soulful tone often lacking in men of a similar aesthetic and lack of melanin.
Their tight musicianship and genre-fusions have attracted acclaim. The group were even selected to open for rock royalty The Rolling Stones.
They are in the UK this week, promoting their latest album Young Sick Camellia (to be reviewed here on The House That Soul Built). Their stint in the UK ends with a performance at The Roundhouse in Camden, North London. Check out their performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live below.
You can buy tickets to see St Paul & The Broken Bones at the Roundhouse on 19th November 2018Â here.Â
