After the wonderful Innervisions Festival featuring leading artists in the soul, jazz, and funk worlds, Adrian Gibson Music Productions (AGMP) are bringing a blues festival to London next year.
Running from Monday 14th – Saturday 19th January 2019, London Blues Week will feature leading blues artists including Kim Wilson of The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Sugaray Rayford, Marcus Bonfanti, and Paddy Milner.
We are particularly looking forward to see Mud Morganfield, the son of blues pioneer Muddy Waters. Recently, The House That Soul Built interviewed Morganfield. He promised that he would be bringing ‘the blues and some of the baddest cats’ with him. Supporting Morganfield will be Bruce ‘Mississippi’ Johnson, the cousin of Jackie Wilson. Johnson’s album The Deal Baby, released last year, hosted an array of nifty blues tunes.
London Blues Week will be taking place at the 100 Club, one of London’s legacy venues running since 1942.
Tickets for London Blues Week can be bought here. You can buy tickets for individual nights or a wristband for the week.
