José James – ‘Just The Way You Are’ (Review)

Timed for a Valentine’s Day release, jazz crooner José James has recorded a cover of Billy Joel’s ‘Just The Way You Are’.

Written by Joel, the doting love ballad featured on his fifth studio album The Stranger (1977) and was his first single to crack the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100.

James strips away some of the schmaltz and adds an R&B groove. His crisp baritone is front-and-centre and he phrases the song with intimacy.
