The dulcet-toned Abi Farrell – who impressed with her EP The Only Way I Learn – is dialling up the energy and groove in her recent releases. Following the 60s blue-eyed soulish ‘I Will See You Through’ , Farrell is back with the disco-helmed ‘Empowered’. ‘I’m not chasing your love ’cause its bad for my health,’ she sings over a slick production with energetic brass.

She says: ‘Lyrically, “Empowered” focuses on the phenomenon of emotional gaslighting in modern relationships and the ultimate realisation that one should never need permission to be authentically themselves: “I knew who I was before you came on the scene…”
