Soul singer Ledisi has re-recorded her 2009 tune ‘Knockin” for upcoming documentary Take Me To The River: New Orleans, a story of the city’s rich musical history. Ledisi’s vocals are married with the homegrown musicianship of George Porter Jr, Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, and Eric Krasno, resulting in a greasier, more raucous performance. Ledisi’s yelps and scats take the tune up another notch.
