Cherise Adams-Burnett was crowned Jazz FM’s Vocalist of the Year 2019. She recently performed at the EFG London Jazz Festival’s opening gala Jazz Voice, impressing with a lively Nat King Cole tribute and her dramatic original composition ‘Violet Nights’.

About her upcoming EP and latest release ‘Paradise’, she explains: “The main themes of the EP are honesty and escapism. The EP begins and ends with songs that are about escaping to an environment that brings inner peace. In ‘Paradise’ this is through imagining a separate and pure reality”

On ‘Paradise’, which she composed and arranged, Cherise creates sensual and spacious grooves. There is a touch of Sade with the combination of ambient neo-soul and breezy jazz. Her vocal is confident and assured, breaking out into a colourful scat solo.

Cherise will perform a headline show at Kings Place on 7th February. Tickets are available here!
