SATURDAY 21st NOVEMBER 2020

5PM PST | 8PM EST | 1AM (SUN) UK

Sy Smith will be performing a mix of her original material as well as covers from the seminal soul and R&B legends who inspired her. Her original songwriting (soulful and funky but with sultry, jazzy textures) and emotive singing has been praised by the likes of Anita Baker.

Sy says: ‘I think I speak for many of us when I say that this has been a highly stressful year. So for this show, I simply want us to collectively EXHALE. Let’s breathe in our blessings and breathe out any unwanted vibrations or unneeded energy.’

Biography

Beginning her career as a backing vocalist for the likes of Meshell Ndegeocello and Whitney Houston, Sy Smith has trailblazed her own path as independent R&B and soul artist. The title track of her most recent album, the stunning and politically-charged Sometimes A Rose Will Grow in Concrete, was chosen by Spike Lee for the soundtrack of She’s Gotta Have It season two.
