I’ve been waiting a few years for this song to be released, ever since I first heard Acantha Lang perform it at Soho’s Pizza Express Live. An anthemic, brassy number, “Come Back Home” is Acantha Lang’s olive branch to her estranged father who deserted the family when she was just eleven. “I don’t care about the years gone by / I don’t care anymore about who’s wrong or who’s right / If there’s one thing I could let you know / I just want you to come back home,” Acantha sings. It packs a punch with its simplicity, with a storming retro soul arrangement.
