Will Heard - Flashlights

Best known for his guest vocals on the dance track “Sonnentanz (Sun Don’t Shine)” by Austrian electronic music duo Klangkarussell, Will Heard is a London-based singer-songwriter who can boast collaborations with the likes of Jess Glynne, MNEK, and Tom Misch. Gearing up for his debut album, due for release later in the year, he flexes his bright, jazz-inflected stylings on lead single “Flashlight” – anchored by slick beats, layered harmonies, and commanding lead vocals.

Heard, who wrote the tune with Linden Jay (Doja Cat, Stormzy, Chlöe Bailey) and MXXWLL (Ty Dolla Sign, Snoop Dogg), explains: “As soon as I heard the beats and groove for this track they spoke to me in quite a deep way – and reminded me of rolling through London late at night. The lyrics and melody came pretty quickly – the song is me addressing where I’ve been and it’s about finding that thing that illuminates your world and makes you feel inspired – for me that’s harmony and groove… and music.”
