GeminiCrab – ‘A Love That Will Last’ (Review)

GeminiCrab is the newly formed partnership between Montreal-based, Guadeloupean singer-songwriter Malika Tirolien and keyboardist and producer Caulder Nash.

Their debut single ‘A Love That Will Last’, co-written by Tirolien and Jean-Michel Frédéric, is a busy, sprawling production anchored by a compelling, melismatic vocal from Tirolien. Part-stadium anthem, part-slow jam meditation, Malika sings about the potential for romantic fulfilment that comes after learning from past relationships.

Tirolien, also lead singer of the Grammy-nominated collective Bokanté, says: “Sometimes, the chemistry is powerful but the timing is off. Sometimes, past wounds spoil what could have been great. But fortunately, owning your mistakes and working on your healing are what you need to make space for the next partner. ‘A Love That Will Last’ is about that, recognizing what past relationships taught you so you can evolve and meet someone new.”

GeminiCrab will be performing at PizzaExpress Live, Holborn on 11 November. Tickets are available HERE.
